In this section, we consider how to ef ciently serve real-time traf c in the IEEE 802.11 WLAN by using the multipolling mechanism. The multipolling mechanism can increase the channel utilization and is robust in mobile and error-prone environments. The mechanism can be used in the PCF and the HCF. Moreover, a polling schedule is provided to guarantee the bounded delay requirements of real-time ows.
